back in may

I looked at these dresses, online.

The girl in these 3 photos is NOT me.

Floral 1970's Vintage Dress

This dress is no longer available at

Everybody's Buying Vintage.
This dress is also no longer available at

Everybody's Buying Vintage.

This is me.
I took self portraits in front of the mirror,
 in my bathroom.

I went to my friend's birthday party.
These are my friends A, & L.

I bought this book,
One Artist Journal by Orly Avineri.

I saw these views out someone else's car window.

I saw this art on the airport wall.

I got to see my nephews and my nieces.  :)

I sketched my nephew,
while he was at his grandma's house.

My wish for my nephews and my nieces is for you to know how truly you are loved by us. Even if we don't get to see you as often as we'd like because we live far away. We would enjoy taking you on adventures, and playing with your toys, or reading stories, getting messy, and getting clean. We would be honored to celebrate your milestones and achievements, or give your hugs and wipe away your tears. luv xo :)  words written 6-26-12

hot pink and Liebster

Vivienne from Thrifted Shift passed on the Liebster blog award to me. Which was very nice of her. She had a set of questions for me to answer so, here goes.
Me in Winter 2008

1.  10 x 10 =  ___  + 36

100 + 36  I knew the answer, but I looked it up to just to be safe.
Me in 2005

2.  "Twas brillig in the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe."
Discuss.

Ugh!  I had to look this up, because I didn't know

what the ef she was talking about.

 It's the
JABBERWOCKY by Lewis Carroll

I'm pretty sure we had to study it in 10th grade
English class, and I hated it.

Me same day as above also in 2005

I do think the  book Through the Looking Glassis ok.

It's not my fave book or anything. The man must have

been very creative.  Personally I think he was

probably on drugs, but I didn't see anything that

 confirmed that.

Me in Spring of 2004, with my natural hair color.
I'm wearing the same blouse as in 2008.

3. What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Um, watching a concert, but I don't know if that qualifies as an activity, so I say rollerblading and bike riding.
Although, NOT in the heat of a Texas Summer.

4. Define irony.

My life. I looked this up too. Irony is a contradiction of saying one thing that means the exact opposite.

Like, if I said, I make the best grilled cheese sandwiches. Then I actually burn one, and have to scrape the black burnt stuff off, in order to eat it.

5. Favorite junk food?

Finally an easy one. Cheetos

6. Water or wine? Choose and defend.

Always water. I don't really like to drink alcohol.
I can act like an @$$ pretty well on my own, without it.   ;)
I'm the one at the party that everyone thinks is drunk,
when all I've had to drink is water.

You all know, I'm not at all shy.

7. Is Puget Sound saltwater or freshwater?

I had to look up what Puget Sound is because I

knew it wasn't the sound of someone punching the

 pudgy part of my stomach.

Puget Sound
is a sound made in water in a section of the Washington sea. So, based on that, I would say saltwater.

However, knowing Vivienne, I bet it's a trick question, and the real answer is probably both freshwater and salt water.

Vintage Chevron Mini Dress

8. Do you like Tetris?

No, I do not like TetrisI've never been into video games.
I'd rather read, write, do art, play the guitar, connect with people, play a card game, board game, or watch TV.

Studded Cuff Bracelet

9.
If you just made yourself the perfect sandwich, set it on the coffee table, got yourself a beverage, and you came back to an empty plate and a very happy looking dog, would you be mad?

I would be sooo darn mad! Probably because it took a lot of work for me to make that sandwich, and I'm not sure the food would be appropriate for a dog to eat.

I wouldn't want the dog to get sick.

Feather Necklace

10. What's under your bed?

Hopefully nothing, but I'm fairly certain dust.
Although, I'm too lazy to check.

70's BOHO Dress

11. Why do "flammable" and "inflammable" mean the same thing?

I didn't know they did. I looked that up too.

My answer is the English language doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Go jane Spike Stud Platform Booties

Dude those questions were tough.

That felt like a school assignment.

I'm gonna break the rules,
and not pass the award onto anyone.

Therefore keeping the torturing down to a minimum.  ;)
(Vivienne I'm joking).

I was wearing a Jimi Hendrix t-shirt,
blue pants,
silver glitter nail polish,
and my hair in a bun.
I was NOT wearing the dream Spring outfit I drew.

On April 14, 2012

 I felt tired.
I was watching Touch on TV.
For dinner, that day, I ate homemade
 broccoli cheddar soup.
I listened to the All At Once album
 by Airbourne Toxic Event.

On April 14,  I was learning Missunderstood

by Earshot. We saw them in concert here.

The other song I was learning on guitar, in April, was Wherever I Stand by Taproot.

This video is their acoustic version.
I learned their regular rock version,
but I didn't like any of the videos for it.
I have never seen them in concert.

There aren't any fancy pants here.
However, I do fancy these outfits.

80's Southwest Sunset Skirt

60's Paisley MIni Dress

I fancy these shoes.

Fresh Cut Grass Irregular Choice Shoes

I fancy these children.
 One of my twin nieces

That was the end of the fancy.
Now it's just me.

My favorite childhood 4th of July was at the forebay, in California, with my family and friends. We swam in the bay. We got dunked in the dunking machine. We had a BBQ picnic, and watched fireworks.
 I'm sure I got a sunburn.
I'm sure didn't like that part.

My nephew Baby JJ
My twin nieces with their grandma
and great aunt
Little me, my grandma, and my brother,
it looks like a 4th of July.
I think my mom made my top.

My art
Phase 1

It looks scary because it's a blind contour drawing,
which means you aren't allowed to look at the paper, as you draw.

Phase 2
I was not allowed to erase the pencil drawing. I had to shade on top of the pencil with crayon.
This time I could look at the paper.
My art journal pages
Truthful and trusting
Enjoys air conditioning
Draws or writes nearly daily
Dreams of the mountains and the beach
Inspired by art, music, fashion, and the 1960's.

Tries hard to do, and be her best
Easily excited and entertained
Doesn't do yardwork
Doesn't mind doing laundry.
Is one who thinks far too much.
I believe in admitting when I'm wrong.
I believe kindness is free.
I believe in recycling.
I believe in global warming.
I believe in silly, laughing at absurdity,
and showing the ridiculous.
I believe in love, even when it stinks.
I believe the best in people,
unless they show me otherwise.
I believe we are stronger,
 than we ever thought possible.
I believe in saying thank you
and good-bye.
I believe in cleaning my own mess.
I believe in leaving something better
 than you found it.

Now go forth and celebrate, if you feel like it!  :)
