peace tree cafe

On our road trip,
I wanted to stop
at this Peace Tree Cafe.

I was hoping they had
interestingly tasty,
and fun food.
I was right.

We shared a slice
of white chocolate
 and cherry cheesecake.

The orange and cranberry
pound cake was also delicious.

The sign says:
Farm to table,
organic, sustainable,
made with love.

My guy had the peanut butter

with blueberries, apples,
bananas and granola on
a whole wheat tortilla.

The sticker says:
Peace Tree Juice Cafe, Inc.
Juices, Smoothies,
 Espresso,Wraps, Sandwiches,
 Paninis, Salads,
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Peace, Joy, Love

I so wish we had one of these cafes closer to where I live.

What do you think?

voodoo child indeed

"Music is what matters.
When you hear somebody making music,
they are baring a naked part of their souls
to you."
Jimi Hendrix

"I feel guilty when people say I'm the best guitar player on the scene. What's good or bad doesn't matter. What does matter is feeling and not feeling, technicality of notes. You got to know the sound. What goes between the notes. I always try to get better. But as long as I'm playing. I don't think I'll reach a point where I'm satisfied."
Jimi Hendrix

"It's funny how most people love
the dead, once you're dead
your made for life."

Jimi Hendrix

"A couple of years ago, all I wanted out of life, was  to be heard. Now, I'm trying to figure out the wisest way to be heard."
Jimi Hendrix
"In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first."
Jimi Hendrix

"I'm not sure how I feel about the experience now.
Maybe we could have gone on.
But what would have been the point of that?
What would it have been good for?
It's a ghost now. It's dead
like back pages of a diary."

Jimi Hendrix

"I don't have nothing to regret at all in the past, except that I might've unintentionally hurt somebody else or something."
"It all has to come from inside, though, I guess."
Jimi Hendrix
"Music is my religion."

"Sometimes you want to give up the guitar, you'll hate the guitar. But if you stick with it, you're gonna be rewarded."
Jimi Hendrix
"When I die, I want people to play my music, go wild and freak out and do anything they want to do."

"Imagination is the key to my lyrics. The rest is painted with a little science fiction."

"I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see."
Jimi Hendrix

"When I die, just keep playing the records."

"You don't have to be singing about love all the time in order to give love to the people. You don't have to keep flashing those words all the time."
Jimi Hendrix

"You have to forget about what other people say, when you're supposed to die, or when you're supposed to be loving. You have to forget about all these things." Jimi Hendrix

"You have to give people something to dream on."
Jimi Hendrix

"You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven."
Jimi Hendrix
"Every city in the world always has a gang, a street gang, or the so-called outcasts."
Jimi Hendrix

"Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens."
Jimi Hendrix

"I don't really live on compliments. As a matter of fact, it has a way of distracting me. A whole lot of musicians and artists out there today, you know, they hear all these compliments, and say, "Wow, I'm must've been really great." So they get fat and satisfied. And they get lost. And they forget about the actual talent they have. And they start living into another world, you know."

kimmie's day

This is us.

In one of those photo booths.

We couldn't figure out
when the camera would take the picture.

We think we should
 have lowered the camera more,
so it wouldn't cut off
the bottom of my head.

 Apparently we suck at

taking photos of ourselves

together too.
We didn't think Bridesmaids

was as funny,

as Get Him to the Greek.

Do you?

cousin sleepover

The night before football camp.

This is what happens when you don't let me take your picture.

Father and son, someday you'll look back,

and remember the time, when you were young.

That trip you drove through a rainbow, wearing your polarized sunglasses,

wondering why, you didn't see the pot of gold.

sugar mountain

"Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain
With the barkers and the colored balloons,
You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain
  Though you're thinking that
 you're leaving there too soon,
 You're leaving there too soon.
It's so noisy at the fair
But all your friends are there
And the candy floss you had
And your mother and your dad.
...There's a girl just down the aisle,
Oh, to turn and see her smile.
You can hear the words she wrote
As you read the hidden note.
 ...Now you're underneath the stairs
And you're givin' back some glares
To the people who you met
And it's your first cigarette.
...Now you say you're leavin' home
'Cause you want to be alone.
Ain't it funny how you feel
When you're findin' out it's real?"...
 lyrics by Neil Young.
 photos taken by me,
 from our recent road trip.
And while I'm speaking of mountain songs,
who can remember, this blog post, when we saw BigBang in concert last year?
