songs that remind me of a certain event day 7

This September it will be 6 years since a certain event occurred in my life. It changed my life not only physically, but emotionally. It changed the way I look at, and think about life. Whether it was someone, something, coincidence, or circumstances that must've thought or determined that the major event a year prior to this event wasn't enough change, and "That's all I have to say about that."-Forrest Gump

Switchfoot - Dare You To Move Lyrics
Welcome to the planet Welcome to existence Everyone's here Everyone's here Everybody's watching you now Everybody waits for you now What happens next? What happens next? I dare you to move I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor I dare you to move I dare you to move Like today never happened Today never happened before Welcome to the fallout Welcome to resistance The tension is here The tension is here Between who you are and who you could be Between how it is and how it should be I dare you to move I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor I dare you to move I dare you to move Like today never happened Today never happened Maybe redemption has stories to tell Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go? Salvation is here I dare you to move I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor I dare you to move I dare you to move Like today never happened Today never happened Today never happened Today never happened before
Switchfoot - Meant To Live lyrics
Fumbling his confidence
And wond’ring why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he’s meant for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

Dreaming about providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we’ve been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we’re bent and broken, broken

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live
We were meant to live

song that reminds me of somewhere day 6

This is my top 5 favorite band of all time. I'm sure I love nearly every song on all three of their albums. I'm extremely excited to see them in concert at Austin City Limits in October.
The Great Salt Lake Lyrics
by
Band Of Horses
Back of the boat was painted wrecking ball
There was country music playing but he don't like it all
And red fire poppin' on the rained-down woody
There was whiskey bottle spilling and a lake it was made of salt

Well look out back there was a note on the door it saying,
"Everybody listen we will be the next Omaha"

Well if you find yourself falling apart
Well I am sure I could steer
The great salt lake
Falling apart
Well I am sure I could steer
The great salt lake

Your old man was but a wishing machine
It's time that you could spin
Now that he is getting old
When Billy Lorett had found a watering hole
It's a place to lay south or the heads of coyote

Now if you find yourself falling apart
Well I am sure I could steer
The great salt lake

Follow me home
We want more
Follow me home
We all want more
If ever beat down
We know who we are
They know who we are
If ever beat down
We know who we are
They all know we want more

potato peel society

We had our book club at a Southern style cafe. Which was chosen because they served pie. I had some sopapilla cheesecake, sounds bizarre, thus my appeal to it (cinnamon cheesecake delight). I ordered breaded and deep fried okra (which was actually quite good). I also got some mac and cheese (which wasn't). I took one bite of the processed mac & cheese and said no thank you I'll pass (gag me). I thought it was going to be Southern style casserole baked with REAL cheese (um nope). My girl ordered a sandwich and onion rings and the reason why I took a photo is when they delivered it they dropped an onion ring. So they had one specially made and delivered on a small plate. I thought it was funny. I remember for a Summer, I was a server (worst job ever, just call me slave). I spilled a glass of ice water on a lady while trying to carry or remove it from tray (classy eh?). Her guy felt sorry for me, and later palmed me extra $ that wasn't on table for tip. I felt horrible about the whole thing. Suckiness indeed! What I like about book club is hearing other people's thoughts or ideas on reading subject matter. It reminds me of what I liked when I attended college, 100 yrs. ago. Here's my favorite quote from the book ..."It is so small a thing to have enjoyed the sun, to have lived in the spring, to have loved, to have thought, to have done, to have advanced true friends? It isn't."...
I recognized my full maiden name listed in book except book character was a guy so his named ended in y when mine ends in i.
