like a dalmatian

That would be me,
in my dalmatian polka dot tights.
You've seen these boots a million times.
I'm in my backyard.
Listening to the dog next door,
as it barks incessantly.

The neighbor's dog on the other side barks a lot too,
but whenever I get close to that side of the fence,
I'm afraid it's gonna jump over & bite me.
My cardigan, & skirt are thrifted.
Weird angle photo I took of myself,
so you could see my polka dot headband.

Yes this is another weird photo angle I took of myself too.
The headband is reversible.
The other side is a white background with black dots.
I don't know why I didn't take a photo of that.

I painted, drew, & collaged these art journal pgs.
Close up pg. 1

When you flip it open it says:
 An empty battlefield of Freedom.
Had we reached peace, wrapped in tissue.

I have a friend, who's nickname for her mother is Cruella. It used to be the definition of a female dog. I'm sure none of you have code names, that little ears won't understand.   ;)

golden harvest

Many of you may call this color mustard.
Which happens to be my favorite condiment.
I am calling it Golden Harvest.

Alice In Wonderland Collection
Elvira Design Dress

Golden Harvest was the color they called our refrigerator, which came with our last house.
We ended up painting it white. I'm sure that old thing was from the 1970's.
Yes, we ended up replacing it.

My nephew will be 2 yrs. old
 in January.
I will get to see my nephew
at Christmas.

This is local band The Orbans.

In her senior high school photos, which she paid for herself, because she didn't like her school ones, my mom had a turtle neck sweater. It was very similar to the top half, of the dress, below.
Bina Samet Dress
I can't find the photo, or I'd show you. It had a circle zipper pull. It was originally my aunt's. My aunt ended up giving to my mom. Or my mom eternally borrowed it. In fact, my mom wore it to her favorite concert of all time, The Guess Who.
Which she actually attended with my aunt.

And that, boys & girls, concludes our storytime. Hooray, & have a nice day!
Did you hear my sarcasm?  ;)

against the wind

"It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago

Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights

There in the darkness
with the radio playing low

And the secrets that we shared
The mountains that we moved

Caught like a wildfire out of control

Til there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove

what she said to me

I remember how she held me oh so tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then
 Against the wind
We were runnin' against the wind
We were young and strong, we were runnin'
Against the wind

The years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends

I found myself further
and further from my home

And I guess I lost my way

There were oh so many roads

I was living to run and running to live

Never worried about paying
Or even how much I owed
Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend
I began to find myself searching

Searching for shelter again and again

Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter against the wind

Well those drifter's days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
Deadlines and commitments
What to leave in, what to leave out

Against the wind
I'm still runnin' against the wind

I'm older now but still runnin' against the wind...
See the young man run...
He'll be runnin' against the wind ...
Let the cowboys ride
They'll be ridin' against the wind
Against the wind" ...-Bob Seger

All photos images taken by me or my guy
fringed cardigan & skirt: thrifted
sleeveless top: sewn by mom, used to be hers.
boots: also used to be my mother's. She wore them when I was little.
I first borrowed them from her in high school, then college.
Finally she said, "Teddi, you can have them."
 I squealed with delight.

My art journal page:
It says: She sparkled like broken glass,
freshly fallen snow,
glittering in the sun, black as night,
shining star burning bright,
protected with armor.
