Pink Bow by Jeff Koons

I followed the color palette of the art
 using pink, with hints of red, and gold.

I incorporated gold accessories.

I wore the pink ruffled skirt to resemble the loops on the pink bow in the artwork.
My shoes have red bows too.

My pink blouse with red flowers,
and my golden belt were thrifted,

It's been so hot, 
I wore shorts and sandals every day this week.
It's 7:57 pm right now,
and it's 87 degrees F
(which equals about 30.6 degrees C).

Feeding the Ducks by Mary Cassatt

 I tried to incorporate the blue of the boat in my pants. For the dark fabric with white polka dots of her skirt I used my blouse and shoes. My shoes also involve the pink, white and black of the other dress.
For the blues and greens of the sky, water, the little girl's dress, and the turtle, I used my bracelets, necklace, and toenail polish color.

My mom gave me my necklace,
and made one of my bracelets.
My friend bought me the other bracelet.

Feeding the Ducks

The last time I remember feeding the ducks was back in 2002. When I was a youth advocate.
I remember when 10 or 11 year old me would get excited when we visited my uncle's because his apartment complex had ducks.

My mom  made my necklace, and my shoes were thrifted.
I got my earrings from Etsy in Dallas 2010.

I ain't the same no more

In fact I have changed from before

My guy and I bleached this dress last summer.
We originally bought it years ago for $5.00 at Walmart.

I've been loving, this band, Alabama Shakes since December 2012. Today I just discovered  the singer is female. The line, "I used to be a little girl", should have been a clue. Duh me, for not watching a video of the band sooner.

Captain America by Alex Gross

I tried to imitate the red, white, and blue, color scheme, the white stripes in my blouse and the stars in my headband.

My red tank and white striped blouse were thrifted.

Here's my brother holding my nephew Speed Racer,

In the bottom right photo, Speed Racer was celebrating Easter with his cousins.

I don't see a date on it.

Something about the colors, shapes, and patterns, of this paper, reminds me of my Childhood Bedroom. Which held my curtains, bedspread, and pillows, all made by my mom.

We had tickets to see the The White Stripes in concert back in 2007, but they canceled their show. So we had to get a refund.
Now the band's no longer together.  :( Boo!

The White Stripes were the the first band,
this little cousin of mine, saw in concert. Hooray!

I thought the lines in my skirt,
sort of mimicked the lines in the star.

If you had told me five years ago that I was going to live in The Lonestar State, I would not have believed it. If you had told me at concerts that bands would sing: 
"The stars at night are big and bright"
 and have us, in the audience sing back,
"Deep in the heart of Texas"...
I would have been shocked.

Teenage me liked to look at the stars, and find the constellations:The Big Dipper,The little dipper, and Cassiopeia. I thought I would like Astronomy class in college. No way!

It was too much math. I only passed it because my husband took it with me, and helped.

Thank goodness for that. ;)

Now for the little stars in my life:
