quack, cheep, splash

My outfit was based on This Style Imitating Art challenge
hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey.

My shoes and blouse were thrifted.

Today's art inspiration is:
Feeding the Ducks by Mary Cassatt

I tried to incorporate the blue of the boat in my pants. For the dark fabric with white polka dots of her skirt I used my blouse and shoes. My shoes also involve the pink, white and black of the other dress.
For the blues and greens of the sky, water, the little girl's dress, and the turtle, I used my bracelets, necklace, and toenail polish color.

My mom gave me my necklace,
and made one of my bracelets.
My friend bought me the other bracelet.

Feeding the Ducks

The last time I remember feeding the ducks was back in 2002. When I was a youth advocate.
I remember when 10 or 11 year old me would get excited when we visited my uncle's because his apartment complex had ducks.

When was the last time you remember
feeding the ducks?

  3. I love polka dots!! I love that you were inspired by that painting, and how you reinterpreted it through your style!

I remember being chased by swans once when I was a kid, it wanted my sandwich and I quickly threw it at them so they would get away from me haha!!

  7. What a cool piece to draw outfit inspiration from. You really found a great thrift store top! Now that I have little ones we stop and feed the ducks quite often. The last time was this spring in the park near our old apartment. Have a great weekend!

  8. cute art piece of the ducks.. I've got one too.. it says the drunken duck.. and its got a few drunken ducks on a river..because they drank the water from it but far away you can see a wine house and a man is throwing wine on the river from huge barrels.. it's funny and classy, I swear!
anyway..I've never fed ducks but it reminds me of the scene of Hugh Grant's movie "about a boy" (Great movie!)..when the kid tries to feed the ducks and throws them a huge piece of bread or bundt or whatever and it lands on a duck and it kills it..haha :S sad but funny..
    happy weekend!

  18. I really don't remember when I fed ducks, but I guess it was in England. A friend of mine used to walk with her little daughter and I and always took bread to the ducks. I loved your top and your shoes! You really look beautiful, always! Very nice taste! I also loved the painting!

  20. Does your husband always have his camera close by for photos? Or does he venture out specifically for his photography?
