what garden?

All I see are weeds. ;)
Today I'm linking up to Thursdays are for Thrifters.

...There was only one beautiful rose that came up through the wreckage, thick with thorns...

..."I bet you haven't sat and observed every wave and every cloud, every blade of grass, and flower?...

My blouse is thrifted.

..."You are made of better things than that."
"What things might they be?"...
"I don't know, but we'll discover them together.
That will be the fun of it."...

My skirt is thrifted.
Yes, my nails are still painted gold.

..."Most of the time we race through life
with our eyes closed in endless thought"...

...Like a tree in winter she had remained frozen until spring had revealed little green shoots, and finally blossoms, and she had grown strong...

...heartfelt as full as a bag of sunshine...

...The sun hung low in the west, turning the sky a translucent pink and throwing inky green shadows across the grass. Crickets and roosting birds squabbled noisily as they positioned themselves for the night. The scents of pine and eucalyptus hung  thickly in the humid air...
Last night was dinner with some of my friends.

..."I love you for your patience, your compassion, and the fact that you have always loved me, in spite of knowing there was a depth in me that I would never let you reach"...

...Memories buried deep beneath the rubble surfaced again like flowers, finding their way through the debris into the light where she feasted on them nostalgically...

..."I can take the important things with me."
Because all the important things have been with me all along...

You look so pretty in these pictures Teddi, the style is so whimsical and magical. I like what you abstracted from the book. Such a delightful post. The skirt is lovely by the way and looks perfect with your top.

lovely words.. and that one of the last paragraphs about memories.. how one can feast nostalgically upon them..well.. lately I've been thinking a lot about "memory"... and how I've come to hate it.. wish I could go to a place like Lacuna in the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (love that movie!) and erase my memory completely.. at least erase that one person that does not let me live anymore.. how can you live when someone else is living inside your head.. he's controlling me in every possible way.. it's unbearable... I think I'm gonna go draw this... It'll sure be on my next posts.. take care!

Teddi, you do these colours proud. They are wonderful against your complexion. The floral skirt bring these fall colours right into spring, and the metallic accents add a touch of glam.
