Last fall, Maikeni blogi-part of me nominated me for this sunshine award.
VI. Name three of your best thrifted finds.
1. Dark brown thrifted boots I've owned these for more than a year. These cost $1.00. |
Left photo: brown tie dyed blouse was thrifted. Middle and right photo: brown skirt and blouse were thrifted |
I like these brown boots. They are comfortable, and perfect for winter weather. I don't have to worry about my feet getting wet in them, or slipping and falling. Because yes, I'm clumsy like that.
2. Thrifted pointy toe black boots I just got these in the fall of 2012. These were about $2.00. |
Left photo: black, grey, and cream skirt is thrifted. Middle photo: purse is thrifted. |
I know Maiken only asked for my 3 best, but I'm going to show more. That way, I can pretend I'm some rebellious rule breaker or something.
6. Thrifted Lace Blouse I've also had this blouse for more than 6 years. It might have cost $2.00. |
Right Photo: pink blouse and denim skirt were thrifted. |
7. Thrifted fringed cream cardigan I've had this for more than 5 years. It was about $2.00. |
Both left and right photo skirts were thrifted. |
8. Thrifted lace skirt I've had this for more than 2 years. I paid $1.00. |
Top right photo: My red wine colored ankle boots were thrifted. |
How did I determine best? I based it on comfort, how I feel when I wear them, how often I wear them, or how long I've had them.
Speaking of things I've had for a long time. At the beginning of this week, I rediscovered this old art journal, from fall of 2008. I used watercolor, oil pastels, and collage |
It says: This book is the journey, a dedication of my moments. |
This journal was sitting there, in a stack of journals, unfilled and forgotten. Does that mean my moments were unfilled and forgotten? ;)
I've been listening to this song a lot on repeat.
I go through these periods where I just can't get enough of it. Sigh.

I so love your style.. :D
ReplyDeleterebellious rule breaker haha.. yeah you are!
ReplyDeleteI like that crochet cardigan!
and the journals.. I have tons of them too piled up in my closet.. I think I started writing/drawing in my journals and agendas since I was 7 years old... imagine how many of those I've got... don't know what to do with them.. I like to fantasize I'll end up like Anais Nin... someone one day will publish all my journals because they find interesting what's in them.. I'm such a fan of Anais Nin...
thanks for the good wishes on my new playa life... we'll see what happens with me here... take care!
Wow you have some good stuffs from thrifting :)

are you serious, you thrifted mulberry pants? I bow to your thrifting genius!
ReplyDeleteI always love to see what other people find at the thrift and second hand stores, it's always so fascinating! Those tan suede boots of yours are my very favorite,I love how they're built and the wraps around the ankle.
I'm glad you didn't follow my "rule", haha. it was so cool to see your favourite pieces.. so many of those. I noticed boots win the competition here since most of your favourites ARE boots. I like the colourful ones the most. those purple ones and also the burgundy ones. great post, Teddi!
ReplyDeleteMaiken,

It's funny how we forget all memories until we read what we've wrote down. I'd be quite interested to read my old journal from elem. school if I still had it.
ReplyDeleteYou're like the queen of thrifting!! Ok, if not he queen you're at least one of the princesses.:) How can you get a pair of shoes for 2 dollars and wear them for years it's beyond my grasp, I'm impressed.

You have a good eye for textures - corduroy, crochet, suede, lace...these are the things that add dimension to a wardrobe. I haven't been thrifting since November but this is giving me an urge to go!

First time I've heard this song and I like it! I particularly enjoyed the manic-hopping type dance moves. ;) Your thrifted pieces are wonderful. I never bother to look at shoes in thrift shops and then wonder why I don't own any shoes ...
ReplyDeleteAlso - I agree with the other comments. You have a great eye for different textures. :)
Loving that lace tan skirt how feminine and pretty.

ReplyDeletewhaaaaaaaaaaat?!?! can't believe your smart-shoppings!!!! especially for a pair of boots.. so tell me, I know they are gentle to your wallet, but are they as gentle with your feet? haha i'm just curious because that's my dilemma every time I found good prices!
