Last December I did a blue and black post here.

I combined song lyrics to make a statement

My ode to Seether from December 2010 found here.

I feel a sense of security when...
when I'm with my love.
Even if we are lost,
with him I know we will find our way.

*there is a steady income
*money in the bank
* all my needs are met
*familiarity
*I know what to expect
*a sense of calm and routine
* I see the mountains

They mixed blue and black on my friend's son, Little T's shirt.

Little T was making sand angels and a sand castle.
I took these photos of my friend's son when we went to the park in November.   :)

I'm never quite sure about mixing blue and black but it looks great here!

  5. I never quite understood this rule of not mixing black and blue, those colors were made for each other. (Never quite got the "No white after Labor day" rule either, that just made no sense.) This blue lace dress is so pretty, the lace pattern is really detailed and interesting to look at and it's so fun to see lace in another color other than black or white.

  6. your black & blue outfit is gorgeous! and I really can't see why those two colours should not be worn together.. it's such a beautiful combo :)
so are the outfits you've chosen from the runways. you're the best at it!

  9. I know those looks from the runway look good, but I just can't wrap my head around the idea of black and blue together.. I never could..
there's a friend on mine that everytime I see her and she's wearing black and navy.. just before we even kiss "hi".. she's like "I know you don't like this color combination but I love it".. hahha as if I was going to say anything.. it's just a personal thing.. for some reason I feel as if black and blue hate each other..
    :/

  10. Teddi! hello! nice to see you comment on three separate posts. Thank you! So nice of you.

ah, I didn't know about the blue and black rule. I guess the fashion police were trying to find me over the years. LOL.

your blog is nice. i think i'll be joining it soon, if you don't mind?

  12. That is such a coincidence! I'm wearing a blue sweater and when I leave the house I throw a black coat on me - and look at your post! Your dress is fantastic, I wish I had such shops here! Your friend's son is sooo sweet and I loved his T-shirt!
Thanks so much for your comment - I was away for several reasons - like ill will towards internet too (one of the reasons :) - but I thought of you and there'll soon be a post FOR YOU - yes, for you - Teddi, I went to the Beatles Museum ALONE in Liverpool! I couldn't wait for it, so I booked ticket, hotel and simply went! And I thought of you there - that I think you would like the pictures on the blog (soon, I promise!)

  14. You have terrific style.

I'd forgot all about the 'never mix black and blue' rule. Kind of like, "blue and green should never be seen'. Makes a person wonder what's so wrong with blue. LOL.

  18. I never heard the no blue and black rule? Lol. I love your outfit tho! And your friends son is a cutie!! To answer your question the lace and embellishments on my dress/tunic are just vintage inspired. I actually sewed them on myself!

  20. It's too bad the term 'black and blue' has a negative connotation, because it's a beautiful colour combination.

The top left photo really caught my eye. We've seen so many embellished collars lately; but I love the idea of an embellished placket.

  24. What a beautiful art journal page of your man, so wonderful, I hope you showed it to him! I love blue and black together, the only combo I steer clear of is navy blue and black when the colours are too similar.

  25. There was a "rule"? I've been mixing black and blue since high school! I have fond memories of a pair of black-and-blue checked pants....

    Love your combination!

And you boy is darling :)
