sorta like santa

I've been thinking of Christmas,
as I look around the living room,

Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 RTW

at all the decorations, people throughout my life,
have given me, and what each one means.

Those gifts from people I used to work with,

Cacharel Fall 2012 RTW

gifts from parents whose children I once took care of,
me and my husband in front of our old house
December 2006

gifts from my friends,
that they bought or made for me.

My nephew, Speed Racer eating ice.
It's one of his favorite things.
Notice his Stormtrooper cup, and his favorite yellow helicopter,
that his daddy gave him.

We used the tripod and self timer.

I look at the Christmas ornament from my dad,
the year of the accident.
Gifts from him are few, and far between.

My nephew Baby JJ,
and my twin nieces Lil Bug, and EJ

My husband hamming it up. ;)

My guy painted our front window.
He also made the green heart shutters and window boxes.
In front of our old house

I look at  the wooden bear ornaments, my mom painted. I remember when my guy hung them from our lace curtains, in our bedroom, when I was sick in bed.

That's my idea of romance.
He knows how to cheer me up.
He still surprises me.
He still makes me smile.

  1. you and your husband look very happy :) I'm loving how he painted the window in festive colours and very kept it very 'Teddi' as well. looks great.

It sounds like your life has been touched with some hard bits, I'm sorry.

Thanks for visiting my blog (again) and my youngest son's blog, Eetrs Obsessions. He was excited to get a comment as he's just started that blog after getting locked out of his old one.

  14. Awww, you and your husband are so sweet together. You last little paragraph was so sweet, love is like that, it's all about the little stuff. (And once again, you have the cutest nieces and nephews, they're adorable.)

  15. You and your husband seem to have a very happy and loving relationship and its clear your lives are rich with love. I hope you spend the holidays surrounded by the people who care about most.

  16. Aww, the photos of you and your husband are so sweet! I like the ones of him "hamming it up" as well. ;) And ugh, I can only dream of owning a pair of pants like that Alice + Olivia pair.

I just put the ornaments up on our tree today and I love hearin' my mom's stories for each one - who they came from, the memories attached, etc. That's what holidays are for - celebration, family, stories - honoring the present, but also the past. :)

  17. Goodness, you and your husband are the cutest couple. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas, Teddi!

May the force be with you.
