""This is my life, it's not what it was before

All these feelings I've shared...

An' now that we're here, it's so far away
An' I feel like I can face the day"...So Far Away by Staind

Some days grey is the background, allowing color to be the star.

My art journal page about our trip to the
Japanese Garden in Florida, 2007

I asked a woman who worked at the Japanese Garden
if the leaves change color in the fall.

She said, "No. Some things flower
at different times of the year. At the end of October, it is
beautiful, cool weather here."

Some days you barely notice grey,
unless you look.

greyscale

Today's inspiration monday!

That's when the ladies Nora and Megan of
 Two Birds Boutique
chose an outfit to inspire an outfit.

Here's my version of the look.
To see how others were inspired
go to:
inspiration monday: broken glass.

Today's inspiration is:
Poppy Delevingne

This past weekend I searched for a new hat.
I went to 3 different stores, and still didn't find one!

My grey cardigan: gift from mom
My t-shirt: thrifted
My hat: over 8 years old

My shorts and shoes were thrifted.

My purse was thrifted.

Now for some greyscale runway looks:

The last movie I found interesting was Limitless.
The last song I learned on guitar was Doublevision by Foreigner.
The last time I spoke to my brother was on Sunday.
The last meal I ate was homemade spinach pizza, for lunch.

The last album I listened to was She and Him Volume 3.
The last book I finished was Maya's Notebook by Isabel Allende.
The last podcast I listened to was Adventures in Arting with Ronda Palazzari.
The last time I exercised was this morning.
The last person I spoke to on the phone, and in person, was my guy.

The last thing I smelled was the ink from this pen.
The last time I painted my nails was a week ago, a dark shade of blue, Dr. W called it midnight blue.
The last time I wore make-up was yesterday.
The last person who came to visit was Kimmie, on Monday.

The last person I got a text from was K.A.
The last time I did laundry was 3 loads, today.
The last time I cleaned was today.

Now are you wondering how you would answer each of these last times?

I look at the handmade gifts our old next door neighbor would cut out of wood and paint.

How my guy would go to our neighbor's wood shop, and borrow his tools.
I think of the year we made brownies and cut them into Christmas trees,
frosted and topped with M & M's.
And every year we would bake cookies: hello dolly's, frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles,
or we made rice krispie treats,
orange sugared walnuts, or cheeseballs.
