Today is Inspiration Monday!
When the ladies Megan and Nora of Two Birds Boutique
choose an outfit to inspire a look.
...midnight blue, tomato-red, sea green, deep purple, and jewel tones reddest of the colours seen in Renaissance painting...from book .A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff
...Then we'd found clothes that reflected the season's silhouettes, sculptued A-line coats and dresses with stand-away collars and full skirts, architectural leather jackets with exaggerated shoulders and curved sleeves. from book .A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff
We'd chosen fabrics that tied in with seductive fabrics of the moment-brocade, lace, satin, and damask, crushed velvet, tartan, and tweed...from book .A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff
When I think of old books, did the people who had them
before love them?
Or did they outgrow them?
My great grandma once gave me her old black velvet belt with a gold buckle.
It was embroidered with colored flowers.
I wish I still had it.

Today's inspiration is:Dianna Agron who stars in the TV show Glee. |
Yes, I totally watch Glee. It's inclusive happiness, that shows tolerance and diversity, through music. Kate Hudson's character Cassandra Julyis gorgeous and feisty. |
My lace dress: H & M, (over 2 yrs. ago), tights: Target, (over 5 yrs. ago)purse: thrifted |

My blue navy wool coat: Target (over 5 yrs. ago) I never wear it, now that I live in Texas. It rarely gets cold enough to wear here. |
My brown suede boots: Sears (over 7 yrs. ago). |

My art journal page from January 13, 2013 inspired byArt Journal All Year E-Course by Elsie & Rachel I like Vintage Vintage clothes, my grandmother's old jewelry, my mom's boots. When I don't know who owned it before, I wonder, did they die, and their family was giving their old stuff away? Were they gifts they didn't want? Or styles that didn't suit them? |

Speaking of old books, they're so much different than those printed today. A lot of them barely even have a cover picture. Just a hardback cover with plain letters for the title. But you can't recreate that awesome old paper look and feel.

I wish I had a cream lace dress like yours. They're one of the most versatile pieces you can imagine - as you prove by cleverly pairing it with deep earthy tones and thick fabrics.
