of fabric and architecture

This is when I compare runway looks to houses,
I saw, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Obviously this is a church not a house.

There I am, on the beach.

my fire in the light

This outfit is for Style Imitating Art.
My blouse is thrifted.

One of my best friends gave me the bracelet cuff.
It's made from a recycled record album.

Here's the art as inspiration.
From the Plains II by Georgia O'Keeffe

I actually think this top I'm wearing in the photo below matches the painting better.
I donated that blouse years ago,
because I didn't like the fit.

This photo is from Our New Orleans Trip in the Summer of 2009.

I actually donated that purse, years ago, too.

My art journal pages from 7-18-12

Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.

It says: If I had an extra hour a day What would I do with it? Whatever I wanted. Probably create more, sleep more, write more, practice more. I don't know. Yes, I do. I would spend more time with my love.

Collected stamps from old mail

For many hours and days that pass ever soon

the tides have caused the flame to dim

At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom

Is this to end or just begin?

All of my love, all of my love,
All of my love to you, now

Shadow of me and my love

The cup is raised, the toast is made yet again

One voice is clear above the din
Proud Arianne, one word, my will to sustainFor me, the cloth once more to spin

My love, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, August 2012

Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time
his is the force that lies withinOurs is the fire, all the warmth we can findHe is a feather in the wind
My love playing in the ocean, in Florida.

All of my love, all of my love,

All of my love to you, now

I get a little bit lonely,just a little, just a little,

sail on

Happy Inspiration Monday!
The ladies Nora and Megan of Two Birds Boutique
chose an outfit to inspire a personal look.
My version of the inspired look.

"Sail on down the line
'Bout a half a mile or soAnd I don't really wanna know aWhere you're goin'

Today's inspiration is:
Jessica Biel
To see what others wore, look here.

Maybe once or twice you see
Time after time I tried a toTo hold on to what we got
But now you're goin'

My lace skirt is thrifted.

And I don't mind about the things you're gonna say...

I gave all my money and my time

I think I got my necklace at the dollar store,
several years ago.

I won these boots from LuLu's  in this giveaway from Maria at Little Tree Vintage, back in May.

I know it's a shameBut I'm givin' you back your name, yeah, yeah

Friends say they told me so

But it doesn't matter
My brother as a child.

It was plain to see that aSmall town boy like meJust a wasn't your cup of teaI was wishful thinkin'
My brother as a baby.

I gave you my heart and I tried to make you happy
And you gave me nothin' in returnYou know, it ain't so hard to say"Would you please just go away," Yeah, yeah

lounging in florida

We just got back from our 5 day trip to Florida.
The hotel internet didn't work most of the time.
That's why I couldn't update my blog, or go online.

Me at the hotel
My shorts are thrifted

Here are some palm tree inspired fashions I like:
Vintage Palm Trees Dress

I really like the way this dress is styled.
Tropical Sun Dress
Upcycled Distressed T-Shirt

I think these shorts are so cute,
but I could never wear them,
because they are too short for me.

I drew these in my in laws backyard,
back in May.
I added the paint later.

I've been up since 2:45 AM, with about an hour nap.
I was basically dead tired when we got home.
I'm feeling more refreshed now, though.  :)
