blogging break

My life has bumps in the road, treasures, great love, and complications, just like yours.
Due to the energy these things consume,
I'm taking a break from blogging.

These are some runway looks that I think would work for holiday celebrations.

In Texas we've been snowed/iced in since Friday.
That means everything has been closed.
We are ready for the sun to warm us up again!

Sometimes I discover,
what I thought knew before,
was no longer relevant.
Things change,
people change,
I change,
ideas change,
Life changes.
Sometimes there's an end.
Sometimes there's a beginning.

Dear blog friends, I'm sending you fabulous wishes of grand moments with family, friends, good food, wonderful music, and joyful fun!
Keep creating, or doing whatever it is that makes you happy.
All the best to you, with peace and love,
Teddi :)

back in april

I wore this outfit.

...She never wore rings. I had asked her why, once.
She had said she liked her hands to belong to herself...
from the book The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti

...Sometimes, I got so sick of being in my own head, it would have been nice to be anywhere else for awhile.
I wished for a mind that was peaceful and orderly,
like a well-run office. Mine was more like a hospital emergency room...
from the book The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti
Black and white jacket, red tank, and black corduroys pants were thrifted.

...When you cared about someone,
you wanted for them most what they themselves wanted...

from the book The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti

I've liked peace signs,
since 9th grade, when we studied the 1960's,

Back in April, I read
The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti
...The paper sky was crowded. Like the rain forest canopy that protected all of the delicate living things underneath. We needed protection. Right then, we had no canopy, no ozone, no anything. There were only the straight, hot, poisonous rays of the sun beaming down...from the book The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti

Back in April, I saw this movie:
Ruby Sparks

..."If I did that..." He thought. "I'd be acting more out of fear than love, wouldn't I? Fear would make me a liar.
I shouldn't have to be a liar to make someone love me.
I shouldn't be so afraid of losing someone that I'll do anything to make them stay."...
from the book The Six Rules of Maybe by Deb Caletti

Back in April, my guy took these photos of the
Texas Bluebonnets.

Back in April 11, 2013,
I made this art journal page

The bluebonnets have bloomed along the Texas highways, this week in April.
It rained yesterday.
Today the sun shined.
Yesterday I played with ink.

negligent me

This post was supposed to be up last Monday,
and it never happened. I blame it on a road trip.

So here's my Inspiration Monday, from a week ago.

This is my version.

The ladies Megan and Nora of Two Birds Boutique
choose an outfit to inspire a look.
Today's inspiration is:

Leona Lewis
to see how others styled the look go to
inspiration monday: the sweater.

My coat was thrifted.

My dress was thrifted.

My scarf was thrifted.

The only chains she liked were on her clothes
 or accessories.

If I didn't get a chance to tell you before,
I'll now wish you a very Merry Christmas!  :)

coral and seashell dreams

Today is Inspiration Monday!
When the ladies Megan and Nora of Two Birds Boutique
choose an outfit to inspire a look.

This is my version.

Today's inspiration is:
Jessica Biel
to see how others styled the look go to
inspiration monday: inception.

Autumn Texas photos taken by my guy

I dream of fancy houses with spiral staircases, wraparound porches, and black and white fixtures,

My purse is thrifted

seashells hanging from ceilings,
and roofs like natural sea lanterns.

Communal neighborhoods and living rooms of browns and rusts like our childhood couch, and home. There are rusted license plates on walls, like those found in The Quilted Bear.

my art journal pages from yesterday

There are wood  paneled walls, and on the carpeted floor, children sit in front of the TV. Everyone watches kittens and puppies, and time machines, going back and forth, to the past.
Wondering how it changed the future,
and whether that was good or bad.
Uncertain.

My shoes are thrifted

Maikeni blogi-part of me nominated me for this sunshine award. I will answer questions 9 and 4.

IX.  Which TV shows do you watch on a regular basis?

I'm such a TV junkie. I'm going to mention some shows you may not have heard of.

Wedding Band
 I freaking love this show!
I think it's funny. It just started November 10.
It's like a modern version of The Wedding Singer.

Mob Doctor
It's super intense, completely fake, and yet interesting.

All on the Line with Joe Zee
Joe Zee takes fashion designers and tries to help them improve their business.

IV. How often do you use your ID (Identity) card?

I use my driver's license as my identity card.

Whenever people ask to see my ID, (if they have a reason), I use it. I don't know how often that is. Like if I'm purchasing something with a credit card,(I don't mind showing it), or getting on an airplane, have a medical appointment, getting into a concert/bar, whenever I get pulled over by a police officer, which I don't enjoy.
Then again. Does anyone?  :p

Is to help me take my life less seriously

I stopped by the bar at three a.m.To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friendAnd I woke up with a headache like my head against the boardTwice as cloudy as I'd been the night beforeAnd I went in seeking clarity...

And we go to the doctor, we go to the mountainsWe look to the children, we drink from the fountainsYea we go to the bible, we go through the workoutWe read up on revival, we stand up for the lookout

A white shirt

for Inspiration Monday

When the ladies of Two Birds Boutique choose an

 outfit
 to inspire a personal look.

This is my version.

To see how others wore the L.C. look go to
 Inspiration Monday: Ladies Night.

Today's inspiration is:
Lauren Conrad
She was my favorite character on
Laguna Beach and The Hills.

Today I picked up:

The Fame Game by Lauren Conrad
at the library.

I've read all of her other books
 in the
L.A. Candy book series.

Instead of wearing a scarf around my neck,
I'm wearing a scarf/bandanna in my hair.

I got it from the Warped Tour concert July 2008.

My pants were a birthday present from
my sister n-law, brother, and nephew.

The boots once belonged to my mom.

My mom also made my copper bracelets.

The shirt has a personal meaning to me because the image could be a guy or a girl holding a guitar.

There are lyrics written on sheet music inside the image.

Some of the words are:

 ...When, I write,
try to listen, But
motions deeper. 1 min
belies of flavor...

These art journal pages from July 2012
were inspired by

In the Sun Class by Natalie Malik.

If I spent all day in bed...

pillows, blankets, paper, pens, phone,
my laptop computer, games..
.
I might want to play board or card games.
I like Rummy Scrabble, Scattergories,
Advertising, Last Word, and Yahtzee.

She had a weakness for boots.
She didn't need anymore.
She owned 17 pairs,

(Since this art page was written in July,
I own more than that now).  ;)

She knew if she found another pair that fit well,
and were a good price, she would buy them.
She liked all kinds of colors and styles, ankle, calf, knee, over the knee lengths, heels, and flats.
They made her feet happy.
