questions, 2006, & other stuff

Isabela from Fusels asked me some questions.
Would you rather spend $100 on shoes or jewelry?

Shoes! Here's what I'd choose:

Floral Corduroy Platform with Studs $30
Faux Suede Knotted Peep Toe Heel $18.60
Strappy Suede Wedges $23.10
Vegan Suede Cowgirl Booties $22.60
My Art Journal Page
It says: She didn't want to simply
follow their rules,
preferring to blaze her own path,
Rebel Against Beyond the Expectations.
Another of my art journal pgs.
It says: Everyday I drink from this water filter.
I am so grateful for clean running water.

Another Isabela question:
What did you do for your last birthday?

I saw this movie
 with my friend.

She gave me this book
  for my birthday present.

The book has looks from 1992-2009
Sin Anna Sui is my favorite designer,
I look to it for inspiration.
Here are some of my faves:
Anna Sui Spring 2006 RTW
Anna Sui Spring 2005 RTW
Anna Sui Fall 2006 RTW
Now for some photos from 2006
My outfit of the day in 2006.
My guy on the road in 2006.
A self portrait in 2006.

Now for a song from 2006
Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance
We saw them in concert in 2006 or 2007.

"...I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

Can you see
My eyes are shining bright
'Cause I'm out here
On the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror
And I'm so weak
Is it hard understanding
I'm incomplete
A love that's so demanding
I get weak"...-

spirit switch

Isabela from Fusels asked me If I could be someone for a day, who would I choose?
Audrey Hepburn for vogue 1964

I would choose Audrey Hepburn on a day that she was healthy enough to travel & do her work for UNICEF,
& h
er humanitarian work with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Her video is found here.

...“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.”
― Audrey Hepburn

I would choose the period of time be before she got sick from the colon cancerthat she eventually died from.

"You can even say that I hated myself at certain periods. I was too fat, or maybe too tall, or maybe just plain too ugly ... you can say my definiteness stems from underlying feelings of insecurity and inferiority. I couldn't conquer these feelings by acting indecisive. I found the only way to get the better of them was by adopting a forceful, concentrated drive.”
― Audrey Hepburn

It would be after she had survived the war,
& been classically trained in ballet.

For all those things were parts of the person she was.

"I tried always to do better: saw always a little further.
I tried to stretch myself.”

― Audrey Hepburn

"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles”
My spirit switch would be after she won
her Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, & Tony Awards.

Your heart just breaks, that's all. But you can't judge or point fingers. You just have to be lucky enough to find someone who appreciates you.”
― Audrey Hepburn

“A quality education has the power to transform societies in a single generation, provide children with the protection they need from the hazards of poverty, labor exploitation and disease, and given them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reach their full potential.”
― Audrey Hepburn

I'd choose when she could still go into her closet,
or simply think back to the days, when she wore those clothes designed for her.

“I heard a definition once: Happiness is health and a short memory! I wish I'd invented it, because it is very true.”
― Audrey Hepburn

Audrey working for UNICEF

“Since the world has existed, there has been injustice. But it is one world, the more so as it becomes smaller, more accessible. There is just no question that there is more obligation that those who have should give to those who have nothing.”
― Audrey Hepburn
“True friends are families which you can select.”
“If my world were to cave in tomorrow, I would look back on all the pleasures, excitements and worthwhilenesses I have been lucky enough to have had. Not the sadness, not my miscarriages or my father leaving home, but the joy of everything else. It will have been enough.”
―  Audrey Hepburn
