Vivienne from Thrifted Shift passed on the Liebster blog award to me. Which was very nice of her. She had a set of questions for me to answer so, here goes.
1. 10 x 10 = ___ + 36
100 + 36 I knew the answer, but I looked it up to just to be safe.
2. "Twas brillig in the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe." Discuss.
Ugh! I had to look this up, because I didn't know
what the ef she was talking about.
It's the JABBERWOCKY by Lewis Carroll
I'm pretty sure we had to study it in 10th grade
English class, and I hated it.
I do think the book Through the Looking Glass, is ok.
It's not my fave book or anything. The man must have
been very creative. Personally I think he was
probably on drugs, but I didn't see anything that
confirmed that.
3. What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Um, watching a concert, but I don't know if that qualifies as an activity, so I say rollerblading and bike riding.
Although, NOT in the heat of a Texas Summer.
4. Define irony.
My life. I looked this up too. Irony is a contradiction of saying one thing that means the exact opposite.
Like, if I said, I make the best grilled cheese sandwiches. Then I actually burn one, and have to scrape the black burnt stuff off, in order to eat it.
6. Water or wine? Choose and defend.
Always water. I don't really like to drink alcohol.
I can act like an @$$ pretty well on my own, without it. ;)
I'm the one at the party that everyone thinks is drunk,
when all I've had to drink is water.
You all know, I'm not at all shy.
7. Is Puget Sound saltwater or freshwater?
I had to look up what Puget Sound is because I
knew it wasn't the sound of someone punching the
pudgy part of my stomach.
Puget Sound is a sound made in water in a section of the Washington sea. So, based on that, I would say saltwater.
However, knowing Vivienne, I bet it's a trick question, and the real answer is probably both freshwater and salt water.
8. Do you like Tetris?
No, I do not like Tetris. I've never been into video games. I'd rather read, write, do art, play the guitar, connect with people, play a card game, board game, or watch TV.
9. If you just made yourself the perfect sandwich, set it on the coffee table, got yourself a beverage, and you came back to an empty plate and a very happy looking dog, would you be mad?
I would be sooo darn mad! Probably because it took a lot of work for me to make that sandwich, and I'm not sure the food would be appropriate for a dog to eat.
I wouldn't want the dog to get sick.
10. What's under your bed?
Hopefully nothing, but I'm fairly certain dust.
Although, I'm too lazy to check.
11. Why do "flammable" and "inflammable" mean the same thing?
I didn't know they did. I looked that up too.
My answer is the English language doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Dude those questions were tough.
That felt like a school assignment.
I'm gonna break the rules,
and not pass the award onto anyone.
Therefore keeping the torturing down to a minimum. ;) (Vivienne I'm joking).

Oh my god! I just laughed out loud several times! You are SUCH a good sport! Yes, the salt/freshwater question was a trick! Puget Sound is an estuary, which means it's the transition betweeen the two. http://thriftedshift.blogspot.com/2012/04/inspiration-monday-and-phone-survey.html
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome, Teddi. Hugs and unicorn kisses for you!
I think the answer to the first question should be 10 x 10=64 + 36 ;)
ReplyDeleteand those questions are such a challenge for sure!! I hadn't heard about many of those things mentioned in the questions but it's probably because I don't live in the States :P
btw, your pink inspirations are amazing!! those boots and the bracelet with all the studs are SO cool!
Maiken,
Maikeni blogi - part of me
funny stuff... That "irony" question reminded me of the movie Reality Bites; winona ryder's character gets asked to define the word at a job interview and fails completely.
ReplyDeletetough questions in deed.. but it's good to know more about you.. and the jabberwocky :)
you crack me up! i love all of your answers! and tetris makes me anxious, so i have never played. nora is really good, though!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, really sweet! I loved the questions, normally they ask "do you prefer pasta or salad?" These ones were creative!
ReplyDeleteLoved your pink "show", I am a big fan of pink too!
And we have another thing in common - I don't like alcohol at all. I prefer water all the time!

ReplyDeleteTed I love your art books, they wanted to me .. = P
haha clever answers! I totally adore your beauty in that 70's BOHO dress <3
ReplyDelete#11 reminds me of the simpsons episode where the crazy-doctor Dr. Nick has some kind of cylinder and the patient asks him if it was dangerous. He goes "don't worry it's inflammable", then after his clinic burns down he's like "inflammable means flammable? What a country!".
ReplyDeleteLol you are funny. I enjoyed reading your answers and I love the vintage chevron dress and booties you picked out.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about my crazy shoes, they are a bit different from walking in regular heels but surprisingly not much more difficult!
